In my time as a Computer Science student at UNC Asheville I explored the interdisciplinary study of digital signal processing for musical applications. This work culminated in an original undergraduate research project that explores applications of spectral synthesis to reproduce the dynamics of a guitar’s timbre in midi guitar systems using what I call “Harmonic Modulation Envelopes”. This video demonstrates applications of HME filters in a musical context.
