Bio

My name is Ben Goodall, I am a New Orleans based guitarist, composer, music instructor, and recording engineer. I have been playing guitar since the age of six and performing and composing in rock and funk bands since I was 13. I studied Jazz, Music Technology and Computer Science at the University of North Carolina Asheville and have worked as a composer, bassist and guitarist for filmmakers and independent artists in Asheville, NC and Los Angeles. I am inspired by the music of Kurt Rosenwinkle, Ahmad Jamal, Prince, D’Angelo, Robert Glasper, Cannonball Adderly, Isaiah Sharkey to name a few.

In addition to music I have worked as a live audio engineer and production technician for the Los Angeles Convention Center and Ritz Carlton for conferences, conventions and concerts. In my time at UNC Asheville I operated the school’s music studio and led an original computer science research project to improve guitar midi systems.
